Chris Grundner
Executive Director

Chris is a native of Buffalo, New York and grew up in a suburb called Clarence. After high school, Chris attended The State University of New York College at Fredonia where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1992. After working for three years in both the retail and banking industries, Chris then got his MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he graduated summa cum laude and fourth in his class in 1997. During his time at SMU, Chris worked part-time with Towers Perrin consulting and as a teacher’s assistant in the business department.

Post-MBA, Chris stayed in Texas and worked for two years for The Sabre Group, then a subsidiary of American Airlines, holding positions in Marketing Strategy, Product Management and Business Development. Chris then moved to Wilmington, Delaware where he worked in Business Development for Bank One Card Services (now JPMorgan Chase), eventually becoming a Senior Vice President and the Director of Business Development for Co-branded Credit Cards. Some of the partnerships that were consummated under Chris’ leadership include Disney, Starbuck’s, Amazon and Volkswagen.

Diane E. Freed
Assistant Director

Diane grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA. Diane received her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and attended post graduate courses in the John Heinz School of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.

During her career, Diane has held positions of increasing responsibility and accountability in the health care industry beginning as a critical care staff nurse and ultimately holding various Senior Management level positions in Fortune 500 health care companies. Diane has also had her own management consulting business.

Diane has recently relocated to the Wilmington area and wanted to become involved in a local community organization. The KHG Foundation was a natural choice for her to utilize her leadership and business skills for a cause she is passionate about. She lost her mother to lymphosarcoma when Diane was nineteen years old. In 2005, Diane’s father passed away from a brain tumor. Diane dedicates the work she is doing for the KHG Foundation in memory of her parents – Herbert D. Freed, Jr. and Elizabeth C. Freed.
